I am starting this blog because after seven years as a loyal employee of a small business that sold computer parts I was called into the office at 4:45pm on Friday November 6th, 2009 just 15 minutes before my husband would pick me up at 5:00pm and told that I was being let go as they were buying new computer software that I would not understand. I was the smartest one in the office, I would understand new computer software and I was the one that would not understand it…I had never even been told of the new software…how could this happen???
My compensation for my loyal service of seven years, working through my lunch break, working my heart out for a special boss who complimented me with sweet words that were his selling trademark, was $700. That is $100 for each year of my seven years of work!
I loved my work and did it well but after five years my boss got a partner to support his drug habit. The partner turned out to be psycho-cop who had after 3 years service with the LAPD been let go!! Why???
Psycho-cop was a total bully who would line up the undocumented Mexican employees…and smash his fist through a wall to let them know who was boss and what was expected of them…they were never to tell the truth and never to ever question him…
But this is my story and not yours…the main reason for this blog is to give a voice to the voiceless…the ones who know they did a good job and they were let go for what ever reason…Please write to me, tell your story and let the world know what has happened to you…this is the reason for this blog…tell your story…
